What’s YOUR Attitude Doing For You?

Is Attitude everything?

Every week I travel around the world working with business professionals in all industries. I’ve pretty much heard it all when it comes to customer challenges, product objections and sales obstacles. It’s my job to come in and find a resolution for all of those. I’m so often asked, what is the first thing we can start on to conquer all of these obstacles? The answer for me is so simple.

Have you ever heard ATTITUDE is everything? Well, it’s simply true. So much so that if you defined the word ATTITUDE by numbers, where each letter corresponds to a number, A=1, T=20, and so on, you would find it adds up to 100%.

So, the simple answer is to make sure you have the right team with the right attitude. Once you know that, everything else becomes so much easier. This is clearly demonstrated in the video, “Johnny the Bagger.”

What Johnny was able to do was to be the change he expected from others. Johnny had the right attitude and because he did he created a culture at the store. He created an environment for happy customers, less challenges and fewer obstacles. He did this by having the right attitude and making it infectious. I often joke in my classes about “shedding the funk” before coming to work. For those of you who know me- I even add my “shed the funk” dance moves. It consists of literally shaking off the bad and having a fresh positive attitude. So the next time you ask yourself, “what can we do to overcome customer challenges, product objections and sales obstacles?” Again, it’s simple. Ask yourself, do I have the team and players I need with the right ATTITUDE ? Sometimes it starts with you. Are you giving 100%?
